PlanetOS vs iLovePDF
iLovePDF is a collection of PDF tools, mostly used in the browser, where files are uploaded to be processed. PlanetOS does the common PDF jobs (convert to Word, compress, merge, split, rotate, redact) on your computer, from a single drag.
PDF jobs in both
- PDF to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and JPG
- Compress, merge, split and rotate pages
- Word to PDF, images to PDF
- Redact personal information
Where they differ
iLovePDF has more specialized PDF features, such as e-signatures, form tools and OCR of scanned PDFs into editable documents. If PDFs are your whole job, it covers more ground.
PlanetOS is the better fit if you handle PDFs alongside photos, videos and other files, want everything processed on your computer, and prefer to pay once rather than subscribe. Its PDF to PowerPoint makes picture slides rather than editable text.
PlanetOS does all of this on your computer. Your files are never uploaded, and it works without an internet connection.
